This page explains how paying at Somalio works, what happens to your money and what to do when a payment does not go through.
Accepted payment methods
- All major credit cards.
- The digital wallets shown at checkout.
The methods available to you appear on the payment step once your delivery address is filled in. We do not store card numbers at any point.
How and when you are charged
Your card or wallet is charged when you place the order, not when the parcel ships. All prices are shown in US dollars and include applicable taxes, so the amount on the payment step is the amount you pay. Shipping is free, so nothing is added after that.
Secure checkout
Checkout runs over an encrypted connection. Card details go straight to the payment provider, which is certified to handle them, and they are never visible to us or stored on our systems.
Trouble at checkout?
A declined payment is almost always the bank rather than the store. Check that the billing address matches your card, that the card is enabled for online purchases and that the daily limit has not been reached. If it still fails, email support@somalio.com with the time of the attempt and we will look into it.
Keeping payments safe
Orders are screened for signs of fraud before they go into processing. If an order is flagged we may ask you to confirm a detail before we continue, and if we cannot confirm it, the order is canceled and refunded in full.
